Jane had always wanted David Austin roses for her wedding, but unfortunately that hot week of summer with temperatures over 40 deg. killed off the delicate flowers when they were growing. The good news is that we had a 'Plan B' and were able to find roses that gave the soft, fluffy look that Jane wanted.
For the reception, we had a few stems of fragrant, white Casablanca oriental lilies, supported by little twiggy baskets in the necks of very tall, elegant vases. Each vase had a tie of white organza ribbon. Elegant, effective - but not expensive.
We used beautifully soft apple mint as the foliage between the roses.
